In 1994, she won the title of Miss India and Miss World. She has also won the crown of Most Beautiful Miss World and Miss Photogenic. After this, she worked for Indian Fashion Magazines as a model. She got success after won Miss World.  She began her film career from Tamil movie-Iruvar. She has done lots of movies include Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Taal, Devdas, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Kuch Naa Kaho, The Heart of India and Bunty Aur Babli. Her performance is well in Guru with co-star Abhishek Bachchan, Umrao Jaan and Jodha-Akbar. Her upcoming films are The Last Legion, The Rebel and Chaos.

Aishwarya Rai won the Film fare Awards as Best Actress for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. She also received Film fare Awards for Devdas movie as a Best Actress. She has won three Zee Cine Awards, A Rajiv Gandhi Award, three Z-Gold Awards and a EU’s Global Diversity Award.
